Back to School
A big life change has happened for me. I’m going back to school full time. It’s something I always wanted to do, but never thought possible.
I was raised in the foster care system and lived on my own from my 15th birthday. I put myself through 10th, 11th and 12th grades. I had two jobs and lived above a small grocery store who fed me leftovers from the deli. So, after graduation, I just needed to work and school didn’t seem to be an option.
Helping people has always been in my DNA, so I’ve decided to become a physical therapist. It goes along with the fitness lifestyle I’ve always lived and rehabilitating patients will definitely be a fulfilling career. I know it will take a lot of work, but the rewards for me personally will be so powerful.
So, I’d love to hear from other older learners out there. I’m in local community college now, knocking out the pre requisites, but there will be lots more after this. If you have any tips or pointers, then, I’m all ears. Also, send good wishes to Ace as he has to live with me while I do all this! ❌⭕️
